What is Ninlaro?

Ninlaro (ixazomib) is a cancerous drug that interacts with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.

It is used with other medications (such as lalalidomide, dexamethasone) to treat a specific type of cancer (multiple myeloma). It is a chemotherapy drug that works by reducing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.

How to use Ninlaro?

Your combined chemotherapy will be offered in a 28-day treatment period. You can take Ninlaro once a week during the first 3 weeks of each cycle. Other medications may be taken daily or only once a week.

You may also be taking Ninlaro Drugs to help prevent side effects.

Take this medication at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a week for 3 weeks, then stop the medication for one week. This is a course of treatment. Continue to take medication as directed by your doctor. Wash the medicine with water. Do not crush the capsules, do not glance and do not open them.

Follow your doctor's dosing instructions carefully. Your doctor will decide for a long time to treat this medicine.

Draw Ninlaro in the empty stomach, at least one hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

At the same time, do not use your Ninlaro dexamethasone. Dexamethasone should be taken with food and Ninlaro should be taken without food.

Take this medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush the capsule, do not chew, break or open. Swallow it all.

Dosage of Ninlaro

Dosage based on medical situations, laboratory tests and response to treatment.

Use this medication on time to get the most benefit out of it. To help you remember, take it at the same time and day of the week of the weeks you take the medicine.

Do not increase your dose or prescribe it more or more than your medicine. Your condition will not improve faster and the risk of your side effects increases.

If a capsule is broken, avoid contact with skin and eyes with the contents of the capsule. If the contents of the capsule are placed on the skin, rinse the area with soap and water. If the contents of the capsule are in the eye, wash the eyes with plenty of water.

Oral Adult Dose for Multiple Myelomas:

This medicine is given only in combination with lalalidomide and dexamethasone; consult the manufacturer for lalalideide and dexamethasone.

Recommended dose: 4 mg oral in days 1, 8 and 15 for a 28-day period

Symptoms of over dose

Side effects of Ninlaro

If you have serious side effects, including: easy bruising / bleeding, signs of infection (such as sudden sore throat, fever, chills), skin rash / skin pain (herpes herpes), loss of appetite / tingling of hands / feet, hands / Legs / feet, sudden / unexplained weight gain, liver disease symptoms (such as nausea / vomiting that does not stop, loss of appetite, abdominal / abdominal pain, yellow / skin, dark urine), call doctor.

Dental Symptoms - Symptoms of an influenza, a severe or painful rash on one side of the body,

Low white blood cell count - fever, cold or flu symptoms, cough, sore throat, burning heartburn, mouth ulceration, skin ulcers.

Liver problems - high abdominal pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, jaundice (yellow skin); or

Severe skin reactions - fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain and red or rash, especially in the face and body, which cause scaly skin.

The usual side effects of Ninlaro may include:

Maintenance of liquids;

Lower back pain, tingling, bruising or bleeding

Diarrhea, constipation;

Nausea, vomiting; or

Back pain.

Drugs that may interact with Ninlaro

Drug interactions may change how your drugs work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Make a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's confirmation.

Other medications can affect the removal of ixazomib from your body, which may affect how ixazomib works. Examples include rifamycins (such as rifampin), St. John's wort, drugs used to treat seizures (such as carbamazepine, phenytoin), among others. Other drugs may interact with ixazomib, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

For whom Ninlaro might not be safe

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking ixazomib; if you are allergic to it, or if you have an allergy. This product may contain inactive material that can cause allergic reactions and other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to have a pregnancy. You should not become pregnant while taking ixazomib. Ixazomib may be born to a baby. Men and women should be informed of the reliable forms of birth control when taking this medication and 90 days after stopping treatment. When using hormonal birth control (such as menstrual control pills), women should also use valid non-hormonal forms of birth control (such as condoms, diaphragms with spermicides). Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medicine if you or your partner are pregnant.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially liver disease, before having this medicine, tell your kidney disease.

Tell your doctor if you want to get certain that Ninlaro is safe for you.

Liver disease; or

kidney disease.

Use effective birth control when you use Ninlaro and for at least 90 days after the end of treatment. Use a type of barrier to birth control (condom or aperture with spermicide). Hormonal contraceptives (birth control pills, infusion, implants, skin patches, and vaginal rings) may be effective enough to prevent pregnancy during your treatment.

If you use Ninlaro with lanalidomide, both of you as a male or female, follow the instructions for using birth control exactly. If pregnancy occurs, tell your doctor immediately.

Warnings of Ninlaro

This drug may cause blurred vision. Do not drive, do not use machines, or do something that needs clear vision, rather than making sure you can do such activities with confidence. Limit alcohol drinks.

Before your surgery, tell your doctor or dentist all the products you are using (including prescription drugs, over-the-counter prescriptions, and herbal products).

Since this drug can be absorbed through the skin and may harm an unborn child, pregnant women or they may be pregnant, they should not take this medicine.
