What is Zestril (Lisinopril)?

Zestril (lisinopril) is an ACE inhibitor. ACE has become an angiotensin converting enzyme.

Lysonopril is used to treat high blood pressure. Reducing high blood pressure helps prevent stroke, heart attacks and kidneys. It is also used to treat heart failure and to improve survival after a heart attack.

Lisinopril belongs to a class of drugs known as ACE inhibitors. It works with the tranquility of the blood vessels to make the blood flow more comfortable.

Zestril (Lisinopril) Uses

Zestril is used to treat high blood pressure (high blood pressure) in adults and children of at least 6 years of age.

Zestril is also used to treat congestive heart failure in adults or to improve survival after a heart attack.

How to use Zestril (Lisinopril)?

Drink plenty of water every day while taking this medication.

If you use the suspension form, loosen the bottle well before each dose. Measure the exact dose using a special measuring device / spoon. Do not use a spoon because you may not have a proper dose.

Zestril can be taken with or without food.

Your blood pressure should often be investigated and you may need frequent blood tests.

Talk to your doctor if you have severe vomiting or diarrhea or are too common. When you take this medicine, you can easily get watery. This can lead to very low blood pressure, electrolyte disturbances or kidney failure when taking Zestril.

If you need surgery, tell your surgeon before using Zestril.

Dosage of Zestril (Lisinopril)

The dose is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. For children, the dose is also based on weight.

Adult consumption for high blood pressure:

Initial dose: 10 mg once daily, 5 mg once daily

Maintenance dose: 20 to 40 mg once daily

Maximum dose: 80 mg once daily

Adult daily intake for congestive heart failure:

Initial dose: 2.5 to 5 mg once daily

Preservative dose: The dosage should be increased

Maximum dose: 40 mg once a day

Symptoms of over dose 

Following an oral dose of only 20 grams per kilogram, no mortality was observed in the rat and the death of one of the 20 mice was similar. The most common overdose is hypotension, which is the usual treatment of normal intravenous infusion of normal saline.

Side effects of Zestril (Lisinopril)

Dizziness, fatigue, or headache may be regulated as your body. Dry cough may also occur. If any of these effects get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

To reduce the risk of dizziness and dizziness, get up slowly when rising from sitting or lie.

Drugs that may interact with Zestril (Lisinopril)

Some products that may interact with this drug are: aliskiren, specific drugs that weaken the immune system/increase the risk of infection (such as everolimus, sirolimus), lithium, drugs that may increase the level of potassium in the blood (such as ARBs including losartan/valsartan, birth control pills containing drospirenone), sacubitril.

Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using, especially:

a diuretic or "water pill";

lithium;

insulin or oral diabetes medicine;

gold injections to treat arthritis;

a potassium supplement;

medicine to prevent organ transplant rejection - everolimus, sirolimus, tacrolimus, temsirolimus; or

NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) - aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib, diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and others.

For whom Zestril (Lisinopril) might not be safe

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking lysonopril, if you are allergic, or to other ACE inhibitors (such as benazepril); or if you have an allergy. This product may contain inactive material that can cause allergic reactions and other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more information.

Before using this medicine, your doctor or pharmacist should have his or her medical history, in particular: history of allergic reactions including swollen face / lips / tongue / throat (angioedema), blood filtering methods (such as LDL depression, dialysis), high levels from potassium in the blood.

If you are allergic to lisinopril, you should not use Zestril, or if:

You have an angioedema history

You have recently taken a heart medicine called sacubatril. Or

If you are allergic to any type of ACE inhibitor such as benazepril, captopril, enalapril, fosinopril, monoxaril, perindopril, quinapril, romipril, or trondolapril.

Do not take Zestril 36 hours before or after taking a drug that contains succubrate (such as Entresto).

If you have diabetes, do not use Zestril with any drug containing aliskiren (such as Tekturna or Tekamlo).

Elderly adults may be more susceptible to side effects, especially vertigo and high levels of potassium.

This medicine is not recommended whilepregnancy. It may be harmed to a baby. Consult your doctor for details.

It is unclear if the drug is given to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

If you have kidney disease, you may need to use zealth.

If you have hereditary angioedema, you should not use Zestril.

Warnings of Zestril (Lisinopril)

This medicine may cause you dizziness. Alcohol or marijuana causes dizziness. Do not drive, use machines, or do anything that you need to be alert to as long as you can safely do it. Limit alcohol drinks. Talk to your doctor if you use marijuana.

Sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting may cause excessive loss of water (dehydration) and increase the risk of dizziness. Report long-term diarrhea or vomiting to your doctor. Make sure that fluids are sufficient to prevent liquid dehydration, unless your doctor guides you otherwise.
